Doula Integration Community of Practice | Informational Call

Health care is evolving, and maternity care is no exception. Doula friendly hospitals are demonstrating improved maternal health outcomes, greater patient satisfaction and psychological safety, and a more supported workforce, all without increasing clinical burden, adding hospital staff, or assuming the direct costs of those services, particularly as Medicaid reimbursement for doula services expands.

The Missouri Perinatal Quality Collaborative, in partnership with the Missouri Hospital Association, invites health care professionals interested in integrating doula services to join an information call about our Doula Integration Community of Practice. Beginning in fall 2026, the CoP will meet virtually each month and provide a collaborative forum for birthing hospitals, clinic staff and organization leaders to learn about the value of greater collaboration with doulas in patient care and explore why their organizations may want to strengthen those partnerships.

Educational content and subject matter expertise will be provided by a panel of doula partners who currently work within or collaborate with Missouri hospitals. Through shared learning and discussion, participants will gain practical insights into building effective clinical-community partnerships with doulas in order to support patients and care teams alike.
