AWHONN Obstetric Patient Safety: OB Emergencies Workshop

The same training is being offered on Tuesday, Dec. 9. Registrants only need to attend one day. Additional trainings will be scheduled in early 2026.

*Online prerequisite course required. Registered attendees have 30 days to complete the course before attending in-person training.

Registration Information

There is a $25 refundable registration fee for this event. The fee will be refunded after training is completed. Registration for both December training dates closes on Monday, Oct. 27.

Join the MO PQC and the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses for a workshop designed to disseminate best practices for various obstetric emergencies. This workshop satisfies the CMS rule that all staff involved in obstetric care receive annual training on protocols and provisions for emergency services. Through active simulation and debriefing, this workshop helps clinicians working in any clinical setting to identify, assess and manage the care for patients with an obstetric emergency.

Susan Hale, DNP, MSN, RNC-OB, CHSE, EBP-C, ONQS-C 

Susan Hale is the Director of Critical Care Clinical Programs at the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) in Washington, DC.  She has a strong background in nursing, having received her BSN and specializing in inpatient obstetrics and perioperative nursing.

10.75 nursing contact hours (CNE available through 5/31/2028), including: ABOG MOC Part IV credit, and NCC credit for Inpatient OB, Inpatient Antepartum, Maternal Newborn Nursing, and Women’s Health
