Join us for an informative webinar where guest speaker Brooklyn Currens, BSN, R.N., Newborn Screening Follow-Up Nurse for the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, will review the process for collecting CCHD results on the newborn blood spot collection form.

Brooklyn Currens, BSN, R.N., is the state of Missouri’s Newborn Screening Program Follow Up Nurse. In this role, Brooklyn collaborates with other state programs, participates in data coalition, oversees the Critical Congenital Heart Defects program, creates the program’s literature and newsletters, participates in state and national coalitions involved in newborn screening issues, and provides follow-up for high-risk newborn screenings. Additionally, Brooklyn pursues community outreach, education and consultation for hospitals, physicians, specialists, nurses, midwives, parents and the public. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Missouri – St. Louis. Before her current role, Brooklyn worked primarily as a maternal newborn R.N. at Missouri Baptist Medical Center. Her nursing experience includes pediatrics, neonatal intensive care, and labor and delivery.
